Ala Cart registration is going to be available after April 1st-When the currently available deal of 75.00 for the full weekend with 8 dances closes. The all in- package will increase to full price of 85.00 after April 1st.

We decided as a team that the package price was too close to the door price, so we reduced the package deal another $5.00-from the original 90.00 we intended to charge.

We have just added another band to the weekend. Saturdays late night dance will be two hours of live music with Soloman Douglas's Quartet. They have a smooth, soulful sound that works well for the feel of a late-night event.

The other two hours of entertainment will be brought to you by DJ- Steven Watkins from San Francisco. He used to live in New York City and was instrumental in the start of the first late night house parties of the Blues dance revival back in 2001. He is an extremely respected DJ in the national and international Blues scene. We are thrilled to have him back in the city for BABBLE.

It would help to know the at-the-door and piece-by-piece prices. It might entice more people to buy in advance ;)

Big Apple Blues?!? What IS that? I'm trying to picture it, hehe.

Just out of curiosity, which Big Apple are they talking about, the choreography or the called dance?

SHORTYJOY

Neither- The city:)

If you want to come to the event and lead the calling- I'm sure several dancers would jump in to do the Big Apple-

There are also quite a few dancers here who do the Franky Manning version of the choregraphy.

Steven is an amazing DJ, with a deep knowledge of and love for blues and related genres, and we are very fortunate to have him resident in the SF Bay Area. I encourage people in NY to go to this event simply for the opportunity to hear him spin, whether or not they're blues dancers.

Hi all- I'm updating this post to express why I feel this dance weekend would be a lot of FUN for West coast Swing Dancers.

May 2nd
Friday-from 9pm-1am-The band- Gordon Webster and singer Briana Thomas has a very groovy feel- They have a smooth sound that would actually be good for dancing West Coast Swing. Down stairs at the same venue There will be a west Coast swing Dance brought to you by Greg Parmington in conjunction with Dance Manhattan. $15.00

Friday Late Night Dance-1:30am-5:00am-3 rooms of DJ'd dancing at Dance Sport 22 West 34th st. 4rth floor. The blues room will be the largest room and will be playing blues all night long. Much of the music lends itself to west coast swing-and there will be free food. $15.00

May 3rd-
Saturday Evening Dance- at India house-The Blues Band plays Blues at all tempos- and in various styles. Harlem Blues Project is great for dancing WCS. I often dance WCS when I listen to them on Monday nights. When the blues band isn't playing, and the other band is... there will be a DJ one floor below playing dance able blues tunes on their band breaks. The venue is gorgeous and you get to dress up like it's New Year's Eve all over again.
$25.00

May 4rth-
Sunday Late Night Dance-at Play Wright Irish Pub-27 West 35th Street between 5th and 6th. If Hot appetizers and Drink Specials at a laid back Irish pub with great Nationally respected DJ's playing the blues appeals to you- this dance is for you.
